Common Threads is bringing World Festival back to DC after a year hiatus! We are excited to be back, and we anticipate the 8th Annual World Festival will be bigger and better than ever!

Hosted in our nation’s capital, an epicenter of world cuisine, over 20 of our nation’s best chefs will team up to prepare ethnically inspired small bites for over 200 guests on Thursday, April 24th. Chefs use Common Threads’ core after-school program, Cooking Skills & World Cuisine, as their inspiration. Each week in the program, our students “travel” with their imaginations to a different country far outside their neighborhoods, by learning about and preparing healthy recipes indigenous to that specific country.

Guests attending World Festival will have the opportunity to “stamp” their culinary passport as they sample cuisines from around the world. Chefs will be teaming up with Common Threads students to create their dishes and featured mixologists will be on hand creating cocktails with spirits donated by Diageo.

World Festival celebrates food and its ability to break barriers and connect people of different cultures around the world. In addition to global food stations, guests will enjoy an enticing silent auction!

World Festival will take place at The Liaison Capitol Hill (415 New Jersey Avenue NW) from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and tickets will be sold for $150.

One hundred percent of all funds raised will help support Common Threads student and family programs and allow our organization to continue to grow in DC and even more cities across the country!
