In July 2009, Lisa Gable was named the Executive Director of the Healthy Weight Commitment, a business-led initiative aimed at helping to reduce obesity, especially childhood obesity, in America.

Lisa is a senior executive with proven leadership experience at the highest levels of the U.S. government and corporate sectors. She is a former U.S. Ambassador and senior advisor able to lead wide-ranging initiatives, assess situations and provide solutions while streamlining operations to increase ROI.

A leading authority on managing and communicating Fortune 500 corporate and product brands, Lisa was co-founder and principal of The Brand Group. She has worked with such companies as Intel, Apple, Rohm & Haas, Roche, Radisson Hotels, the GAP as well as start ups and government contractors to build brands, resolve inconsistent messaging and realign corporate processes to improve message coordination. She has helped position dual-use and multi-use products for sale into consumer and non-traditional markets and advised executives at companies such as Oracle and Cadence when they reached the crucial billion dollar mark and required marketing systems to reach the next level.

Named by President Bush as United States Ambassador and US Commissioner General to the 2005 World’s Fair (Aichi EXPO) in Nagoya, Japan, Lisa oversaw the U.S. Pavilion operation, a 100% non-federally funded $34M operation. She repositioned U.S. participation in World’s Fairs by focusing on business development, investment, and job creation. Developing personal relations with top Japanese CEO’s and political leaders, she helped drive direct relationships between key economic centers in the U.S. and Nagoya, home of Toyota Motor Corporation.

A recognized media spokesperson and public speaker, she is accomplished in dealing with both foreign and domestic press corps and has appeared on Fox News, NPR, BBC and NBC Nightly News.

A trusted advisor on philanthropy and political fundraising, Gable’s advice is valued by corporate executives, elected officials and charities who wish to maximize and measure the results of their efforts. A leading political fundraiser, she has served on the boards of multimillion donor groups, business philanthropy roundtables, campaigns and local charities.

A corporate director, Lisa is Chairman Emeritus of the Pacific Research Institute; serves on the boards of Girl Scouts of the USA, Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute; serves as a Senior Fellow at the Council on Competitiveness; serves on the advisory boards of Base Technologies, Inc., Diplomatic Courier, Distributive Networks and Betty Confidential, LLC and is a member of Women Corporate Directors.

Her background includes tenure as Global Brand Identity Manager for INTEL Corporation; a Trustee of Thunderbird School of Global Management; a Commissioner of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships; a U.S. Delegate to the United Nations; Vice Chairman for the U.S. Defense Department’s Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services; a Senior Counsel for Archimede Philanthropy Partners; a Trustee for the California State Summer School of the Arts; Deputy Associate Director, Office of Presidential Personnel, the White House; Special Assistant for Technology Transfer Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Lisa Gable is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s degree in international relations and holds a Master’s degree from Georgetown University’s National Security Studies program and studied at the U.S. Army War College and National Taiwan Normal University.
